That doesnt surprise me..  of course i didn't see it just that second.. and I grabbed the full recording on the 3rd when it came out. Not sure If I like it yet..  some parts yes, some parts no.
Decent video of her playing solo is going to be useful though.

I don't have any money to buy one.   :'( :'( :'(. So I'm thinking of robbing a bank or something.

I also think her solo playing is useful.

I don't usually like Boosendorfers, but I liked that one.

digital download was only $4.50 - post another P+F and I'll buy it for you.

I feel like its a bit fast in the opening.. my personal taste though...  and I don't think it communicates quite the same passion as I get out of my horowitz version..   but at the same time, its practically flawless and I like that everything is clear, clean, well articulated..  comparitively to some sections of horowitzs where notes get kind of lost in the mix..   probably just because his is live and hers is studio.

I love the way Horowitz plays it, but the freaking sound SUCKS!!!  The sound of the piano and the orchestra is absolutely terrible!!!  Everything is so god damn piercing!

And that's why I don't like buying classical music.  You only get to preview like a minute and a half of something, but you don't know how the rest sounds.  So you have to kinda gamble on which one you want to buy.

So how did you come to be so desperate for the score for this particular aria then?

I love the way Horowitz plays it.

I listen to myself playing the opening 2 mins or so (before it first gets that bit more obnoxiously difficult, at the piu vivo marking).. and i think, "that wasnt too bad, room for some improvement there and there" .. and then I listen to horowitz, and i think "oh thats right I suck".

I hate that stupid toccata cadenza he plays.

But he pays it well, so he compensates for how much that toccata cadenza sucked.

exactly it is the soloists responsibility to contact u Witt the scores already in hand a
Ong w the performance dates and a schedule of when they are available and would like to rehearse so u cam coordinate practice and plan ur own prep of the part. If u have to chase down music and do even more work like hound the, for rehearsals and make up skippered practice because of mixc excuses on their end u get to charge lots extra and or just drop them because they r too much hassle pr finish the assignment and refuse to work w them again after u get paid

i hate using my ipad for posting. autocorrect is the most useless cumbersome piece of technoloyg i know. it screws up works you meant and want to type and display as is, and the misses typos you actually might want .

im just going to use it for browsing, i've had it with trying to actaully type anything with that silly thing.

actually no partying just studying like crazy for some hard science exams i have coming up. i have a recital perf later today so i actaully back off on the practicing going into a performance, they always come out better than if i practice like crazy till the very end.... ::)

You can disable autocorrect. See the thread "Winter Break Project" in Repertoire. I have explained how to do it there.

Cheapest I found is $4.99. And it's the soloist's job to give the score to you.

That shouldn't excuse her from giving you the score. I mean, next time you see her, just ask her to bring the score or something. It shouldn't be too hard for her. I was accompanying a cellist who did this once. On our first meeting day I insisted she bring the score. And she did. And it all worked out.

We'll manage.

Maybe...

Anyways, I'm kinda glad you guys didn't have the score.  I could never stop loving Valentina Lisitsa!
