Help in choosing new piece
on: December 21, 2012, 11:09:19 AM
Hi everyone,

I am new to the forum and, among others, I am currently playing the following pieces (just so that you can get an idea of what my current level is)

Mozart - Sonata K331
Beethoven - Sonata op. 10 n°2 (though I'm struggling with bringing the 3rd movement up to speed)
Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata (except the third movement which I think is still beyond my current level)
Schubert - Impromptu op. 90 n°2
Chopin - Waltz op. 69 n°1
Chopin - Mazurka op. 7 n° 2
Chopin - Nocturne op. 15 n°3
Bach - Prelude and Fugue I and II from the Well-tempered clavier, first book

For exercises, I'm playing several from "Studi a moto rapido" by E. Pozzoli.

I want to learn something new, but I do not know exactly if, based on my current level, I will be able to play effectively the pieces I have in mind. Here is a list of pieces I would like to play:

Chopin - Waltz op. 18 (Grande Valse Brillante)
Chopin - Waltz op. 64 n°2
Chopin - Nocturne op.9 n°2
Grieg - Zug der Zwerge (March of the Dwarfs), op. 54 n°3
Schubert - Impromptu op. 90 n°3
Mozart - Sonata n° 14 in C minor (K457)
Debussy - Arabesque n°1
Rachmaninov - Prelude op. 3 n°2

Do you think these pieces would be playable for me, given those that I am currently playing?

Thanks a lot for your help!
