on: January 05, 2013, 12:19:08 AM
Hi there, im planning to sell my antique piano and I have no idea if it is worth anything. Right now its on gumtree for 55 pounds. Its completely detuned, two keys are not working and one pedal is broken. I'alredy did get an e-mail regarding this piano and the person was preety excited about it. And i thought to myself, what if its worth something? Have you guys got any idea if its worth something? Any value?

Nice rosewood veneer cabinet. Whatever the offer is isn't the important part.

If you get one take it. ;)

I presume Sherlock got dumped and Watson went with another Watson?..not sure really....

If you think it's is expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur.

Yeah, bbcnews ran a story about the UK government dumps having trouble coping with all the old uprights being sent there.
Broken key ones, here in Kentuckiana, the owner has to pay to get it hauled away. Salvation Army resale and Goodwill (resale) won't accept pre-depression uprights.  All keys sound upright might sell for $50, even a Sohmer.  A genuine predepression Steinway upright working and in tune went for $300, but that was a dealer.
