It wasn't a witches'-brew-botanical smell...something richer, murkier.   Then as if in slow motion, several things happened...creepiness common to tricksters.  A shampoo boy's face appeared over the man in disquise and faint strains of Victor Borg's "Shampoo" music could be heard along with a bubble blower.  Later

...in another dimly-lit corner of the room members of the Red Hat Society(all in purple dresses) played for the Rock, Paper, Scissors championship.  Without warning, the dark mysterious Tycoon  appeared and revealed to everyone he was a scardy-cat, a Samhainophobic.   Whoa!  It is not certain then these events were not all true in the sense that it all happened.....
