Traditional/Piano Squall - Tetris Theme (Korobeiniki)
on: January 17, 2013, 12:39:33 AM
Hi to everyone! I've done a little recording just to get fun and I'd like to show you it. It's the main music theme of the super-known game "Tetris". It has a little introdution and some parts arrangeds by Piano Squall but in the second part of the video the theme is perfectly recognizable.

Originally, it was a folklore song of the russian people and it was used by Nintendo for its game.

I hope you'll like it!  ;)

i enjoyed this quite a bit. it's such a catchy tune, i always believed it was based on a folk melody but never knew its name. well played. i only wish, as talented as pianosquall is (i also love his charity work/musical mission), that it were longer.

only thing i would reccommend since you have the skill to do it, is to find your maximum fast tempo that allows to to still play to your best ability, then take about 50-60% of that tempo, and play it there then in stead of finishing it, i would modify the arrangement and add a repeat of the 2nd half of it only double the tempo onthe repeat. i think it could be super effective that way, but this is just an 'artistic what if we did this...." not neccessarily a need to do to make it better , just a suggestion to to you explore others ways to play with it and make it more interesting.

fun video!

Thank you very much, enrique!!  :P

That's a good idea haha. I think Piano Squall has another larger arrangement (it's above 5 minutes) and it works better on the Tetris theme and its variations, but I haven't played it (yet) I'll look for it ^^

Thanks again!  ;)
