i discovered this piece looking for songs from 'the pianist' soundtrack at least 6 years ago, and have been unable to determine its true title since. it is definitely not part of 'the pianist' soundtrack and i'm confident that it's not chopin, although i could be wrong. it doesn't register in either shazaam nor soundhound.

please, if you know the name it would save me from trying to write it out by ear (i'm desperate for the sheet music).

thanks!

I've never heard the piece before either, but it is rather beautiful.

If anyone does find the sheet music for it - let me know.

It's definitely not Chopin, stylistically speaking it's far too modern for that. The original music from The Pianist was composed by Wojciech Kilar so I imagine it was written by him.

thanks, i'll check the works of kilar. the issue is, however, that the artist originally listed on the track (chopin) was obviously inaccurate, so whether this was part of the music for 'the pianist' is uncertain.

my guess as well. also the highly probable since he has written a pretty good amount of piano music (including two piano concertos, no 1 is on yt but i have yet to find a recording of his no 2 which was premiered in 2010... :'( )

i do not believe his scores for that film though (the pianist) were publsihed. i may very well be wrong but if they were ever commercially available, it was must have been very limited in distribution, used a tiny publisher, or not sold/marketed very well for very long.

his other piano music is very nice should definately be explored as well (his 'three mazurkas' are onmy wish/watch list, those can be bought at smp , wrote a pretty french horn and piano sonata and some sacred choral wroks also . all great stuff. i may get that sonata....)
