Hi
First thanks so much for reading it.
It's the finger tenosynovitis, almost the ten finger all have some pain, but they are not pain all the time. just when I do something by my hands, some of the fingers feel pain. The pain is in metacarpophalangeal joints. And now they are not swelling. I got some physical therapy and take some medicines. But the doctor said the major thing is I have to rest. And I've hear there is certain pianists who have hand injury but still play piano in some way that is good for the recovery...

Anyway, I wanna get better as soon as possible so that I can play again.

Thank you so much:)

If you've memorized a song sufficiently, play it in your head. Whenever I go on road trips and have no access to pianos, I play songs in my head, and when I go back to it, it's as though I'd been practicing the whole time!
I am trying to become Franz Liszt. Trying. And failing.

I get tendinitis from playing too many trills with my right 4th and 5th fingers. Bach's Sinfonia 5 with all of the fancy french ornamentation temporarily deadened those fingers after repetitive ornamentation practice. I am not sure if this is from improper technique or just a physical deficiency from using a mouse and keyboard for so long.

How did you get your injuries and from what exercises/piece? Just incase I or others here incur the same injuries, really sad to hear when a pianists hurts his hands.

hey,

I kind of went through that a couple of years back, got something similar and had to stop for a while. Now I am not sure how you got to your state, etc. But here is some rough advice from my experience. make sure you fully rest for a long time, and minimize computer(ergonomic keyboards, etc. help) and piano. you'll be surprised by damage you can do by just playing 30 minutes a day of piano, especially when you can't relax because of pain. Keep doing therapy, and try targeting neck/back, since the nerves going to the arm are all rooted there. (try working on your posture too) And you'll find practising in your head, Although difficult to do, is really good and useful at the end of the day. Good luck with getting better, and don't forget the most important thing is rest.

@terexyun
Is your hand fully healed at 100% now, no more minor pains from practicing technique? I got injured before (sports, jarred it really bad)and there is always this minor negligible pain that creeps up on my 4th when i over practice, which never happens before.
