Youngsters

Hey y'all,

I thought that maybe youngsters like me (I'm 15) could have our "own" message board... there are so many teachers and professionals out there (old people!!!  :)), It'd be cool to talk to people who are your own age, like up to 18 or so.

Worth thinking about at least, isn't t?
Music is music, don't try to tamper with it

Piano Forum was created for professional pianists and teacher as I could see the lack of something like this on the Internet.
I do have plans for a piano site for younger pianists but that is something you have to wait for. In the meantime we have the "Student's Corner" forum which is mainly dedicated to younger students.

There are many other piano discussion boards with a lot of young people which may be what you are looking for.
For example, try the forums at pianoworld.com:

The very nature of a forum should be inclusiveness and I do not believe that we need have ageist groupings within it. I am aware that there are many young students who are members.

However, one of the refreshing aspects of this site is its diversity of members both in age and musical backgrounds.  We are drawn to pianoforum.net by our love of the piano and its music and in this we are spirits of a kind.
Thank you very much nilsjohan for developing and maintaining this great point of contact for so many of us scattered all over the world.
A chat facility could make the discussion more immediate, more personal and fun.

Thank you again nilsjohan for providing this wonderful site.

I think there is no partition between the old and the young, not in capability, nor in knowledge. This is simply a forum in which we learn from each other... Every student is a teacher and vise versa.

It is also excelent expirience and very productiv for "youngsters" (my self being one of them) to talk to more expirienced musicians. And it is true that there endless chat rooms with MSN and whatnot although I have to agree that it cauld be uesfull to have a section of the Forum dedicated to younger students that wouldn't be strictlly fobiden to older musicians but more a place where youngsters cauld talk relative to there own level. It can be mildlly disconcerting to see all these people who are a long way obouve grade 8 standard.
