Hallo guys,
When improvising i try to do repeated notes. I do that with one finger, pretty fast lol. But i saw people doing that with more fingers. So now i wanna improve that skill. If you guys know some exercises (Czerny, Hanon etc.) for repeated notes, i would be grateful if you name them.
Thanks in advance
If you play repeated notes with just one finger, you could end up sounding like a woodpecker hammering away at a tree which is not necessarily the desired result!
You could try practising repeating one note first with 1 and 2, then 1, 2, 3, then 1, 2, 3, 4. If you do this regularly enough, making sure you really do lift your fingers (this helps!) you will finally achieve it.
I remember practising the repeated notes in Ravel's Alborada - phew, those were tough and I ended up having to get my piano fixed because the note finally gave way. So, if for only this reason, use different keys when practising repeated notes and spare your piano! The main key to success is to practise regularly until you succeed. And you will if you keep doing it every day! It WILL come eventually if you persevere!
