Beginner Pianist here, looking for some advice on purchase.
on: February 12, 2013, 09:57:25 PM
Hello pianostreet community,
I am looking to purchase a keyboard to begin learning the piano. I do not necessarily want to spend more than $300 dollars on this keyboard, mainly because I am just a beginner. My father has an extremely expensive piano at the banquet hall he owns, so soon I will transition onto that. But for now, I'm looking for a keyboard in order to learn how to play.
^ I would love for the keyboard to sound something like that. Mainly because I want to play a certain type of music.
Thank you all for the help, as it is much appreciated.

I think any of the modern digital pianos by Yamaha will sound like that, the style of playing in the videos relies on a sustain pedal so make sure whatever you get has one and maybe some kind of chorus and reverb would help a raw piano sound achieve what you are looking for. My local music store had a 76 note Yamaha piano in the window for 300 euros, I'm certain that would do the job.
