can i really learn to sight read music ?
after 6 years of playing piano, i have decided to try to learn sight reading.
i can decipher sheet music bar by bar, but actually reading music along with music to me seems impossible. although i know it isn't impossible or no one could do it.
so how do you sight read ? i really need some help & advice.
i am now 44 years young. is it too late for me to learn this valuable skill ?
many thanks.

It's not too late. Learning sightreading is like anything else, it takes practice.  There's a book available from PS called Secrets of Sightreading (or something like that) which you may find useful.  But basically you need to start with easy pieces - much easier than the ones you currently pplay, and start reading them.  Find a level that you can read at something like the actual opace, and without making too many mistakes.  Then do some (new pieces mostly) every day.
