composing

Pax!
I have been thinking about composing a song on piano. This song should make people feel as many emotions as possible and it should somehow remind people of a church hymn. You could call it an existential love song. Do you have any tips for me?

I would've elected for a full-stop, I'm perhaps not quite as polite as you.

henrikhank -
A composition that makes people feel as many emotions as possible is not something that will work - people won't like it. You can't list off emotions and make people feel all of them. Composition takes you through multiple emotions by telling a story. Express something that you understand and feel through music rather than choosing an emotion and trying to connect it to some other emotion without purpose..  and don't try to pack things in, allow your work to be whatever it is - it is better to make someone feel strongly a single idea (that is developed) than it is to have them confused by lots of ideas.
