Chosing a new piece
on: March 07, 2013, 09:05:55 PM
My teacher (about whom I've perhaps overwritten) has asked me to chose a second piece. She has suggested either an early Beethoven sonata or one of the Bach's two part inventions.
My major issues are "muddy articulation" as a result of my "flat" hand position (which I work on whenever I play) and irregular rhythm. While my strengths seem to be good sightreading and quick hands (according to my teacher), I seem to have a poor ear.
Any input on what pieces from the above might best address my technical issues would be much appreciated.
Thank you!

The Bach. Your issues will be much clearer, and therefore more easily fixed, than in the Beethoven. Also, the early Beethoven Sonatas are quite a step up in difficulty from the 2 part inventions.
