Progress on Scarlatti K.141
on: March 08, 2013, 12:30:29 AM
As you may already know, Scarlatti sonata K.141 is the one in D-minor with a lot of repeated notes. It is a glorious thing for people who are able to meet its technical demands to add to their repertoire. I recently discovered a fingering for the repeated notes that makes the piece considerably easier. Finger each clump of a sixteenth note and its 5 repeats as 421421. Admittedly, this works better on the white keys than the black ones. But it's amazing how much it cut down the fatigue.
