Schostakovic Preludes and Fugues
on: March 15, 2013, 08:52:16 AM
Hi,
please need advice.
As a lay I used to play some P&F of Bachīs WTC 30 y ago. As a matter of fact I started piano lessons again with a focus on Jazz and improvisation, which I am a total beginner in. Nevertheless I recently heard some of Schostakovicīs P&F in a concert, and found them so beautiful, especially the fugues no 4, 5, 10 and 12. My teacher suggested tryin one, but I feel they are far beyond my skills (after hearing Keith Jarrettīs recording of them again and again).
Which of the pieces is that with the lowest difficulty?
Thank you
Stephan
