Tips for learning Schumann and Bach
on: March 21, 2013, 01:52:55 AM
Hello! I am new to this website, so I am not sure I am in the right forum. I am currently working on Perfect Happiness Op. 15 No. 5 by Schumann (I started it a few days ago), and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for pedaling. I have the edition edited by Keith Snell, but I am not a big fan of this edition. And also if you have any tips on how to work on bringing out the melody. (I usually buy urtext, but my previous teacher had me buy this edition). Also, I am working on Sinfonina No. 15 in b minor by Bach (I started this piece at the same time as the Schumann piece, and for this piece I have the urtext edition), and i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on the crossing hands section. I am able to play the notes of each piece; now I am trying to begin adding in more of the musical elements and dynamics.
