New Ballade
on: March 26, 2013, 03:03:10 AM
Hello, my name is Tiago and I am an amateur composer and pianist. I wrote a ballad where I put my soul. I'd like to hear your opinion on this piece :). Sorry for my english and sound quality. In the future I will return to recording this ballad.

Thank you very much :)

This is very good indeed, very attractive. I suggest you post it in the Audition Room where people are more likely to listen. Have you written much piano music ? Do you improvise ?

Thank you. I have to say I don't usually compose for piano but for orchestra. Also, I must say I'm not very good at improvising ;)

Thank you for the compliments. In fact, curiously, I haven't yet written the score. It's currenlty only in my memory. I wrote this ballad between January and February, last year. I went on playing it and reshaping it as I played until it end up like this.

I liked it too.  Especially glad that you are still writing melodies.  It is a timely reminder that modern compositions do not have to be forgettable and unplayable atonal noise.

Chopin - Fantasie Impromptu, Nocturn in C sharp minor, Op post
Brahms - Op 118, Nos 2 & 3

Thank you. For the time being I haven't yet written the score for this piece.

Yes, I agree. Composing is an expression of our feelings, from our heart into the music. it can't be bound to a set of rules born from the zeitgeist.
