RCM auditions
on: April 07, 2013, 10:49:25 PM
Hey there! I'm new here!
I'm hoping to apply next december to RCM but I'm not sure whether my program for the auditions it is ok or not.
Following standard-audition programme I should play classic/baroque, romantic and 20th century pieces and my and my teacher's idea was: Beethoven Variations in C minor (Classical), Chopin Polonaise op 61 - or, if too long, Liszt Trascendental Etude n.8 Wilde Jagd (Romantic) and Debussy Estampes Pagodes for the 20th century. (aprox. 20/30 mins)
Do they really pay attention to the length of the pieces?
Any suggestions?
(Currently I'm studying Schubert Sonata in A minor D784, Chopin Polonaise-Fantasie op 61 and Mephisto Waltz and previously i saw someone who played a huge program.. Appasionata, Scherzo n3 and something else.. isn't it too long? )
