Bösendorfer Concert Grand, 7'9" long
on: April 15, 2013, 06:42:39 PM
The following is a description of the piano I inherited from my step-father:
Owned by a Broadway conductor, this near mint-condition concert grand (Model #255, 7’ 9” long) was built in 1974 and maintained by a Bösendorfer specialist.   Remarkable for its luscious bass sound and beautiful action, the keyboard is gleaming ivory and ebony; case has flawless ebony finish.  It should be owned by a skilled pianist who can appreciate and use it fully.  I need advice on how to find someone like that.

Nice inheritance!  :o

First of all: How is it being stored? (Has it been moved?)

Is your priority to find a "loving home" for it, or is it to get as much $$ for it as you can?

Host a piano competition, and whoever wins gets the Boosendorfer.  Well I assume you still wanna make some money from this, so like set a cheap price and the winner of the competition gets to pay that amount or something.

Pianos are too *** expensive!

Almost all super skilled pianists don't make any bank, so they can't afford concert grands.

Which sucks because you have losers who buy 150k Steinway D's just to show it off in their living room.

What comes to mind is who is the loser ! If they can afford the 150K piano, they won something in life that some concert pianists did not.
Depressing the pedal on an out of tune acoustic piano and playing does not result in tonal color control or add interest, it's called obnoxious.

;D. Dude my grades suck soo hard right now.  Second semester senior problems...

No dude but yeah, you should find a way to get ahold of all of the good pianists around where you live and sell it to that person.

If you wanna be cool about it, I would host a competition, and you be the judge.
