Are keys glued?
on: April 17, 2013, 05:53:12 PM
Hey..I was wondering..Are hammers glued to their 'dock'? I have a hammer that is loose while the others seem stuck and I was wondering if I could glue it? Picture of the hammers included:

A little confusion between the title and the questions. Whatever we are looking at here appears to be plastic or a plastic composite.
I would go back to the manufacture and ask for the type of adhesive recommended/ used for this type of machinery.

If you think it's is expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur.

I'm gathering that this is a digital piano ? At any rate with digital pianos with plastic parts to the key assemblies and hammers you would replace the broken components. I have not worked on one myself but from the videos I've watched the parts pretty much lift out, slide th new one in and put it back together.

Depressing the pedal on an out of tune acoustic piano and playing does not result in tonal color control or add interest, it's called obnoxious.

Yes, I meant Are hammers glued?
You see the black part? That's the hammer (I assume) which is Some sort of metal. The white stuff around it is plastic. One of the black hammers is loose from this plastic docks (not pictured) and I was wondering if it's glued or what it is..
