Clair de Lune notes?
on: April 22, 2013, 11:35:19 PM
Hi :) I'm playing Clair de Lune right now, and it's coming along really well (thank goodness), but there is one measure that I'm having issues with.  It's not that it's hard technically--the problem is that the notes feel so wrong there.  It's in measure 61, beats 4 through 9.  My sheet music has C-Dflat-F for the chord in the left hand, but it sounds absolutely horrible to me every time I play it.  I found some free sheet music online (it's probably not the most reliable, but still) that had Cflat-D-F for that chord, and I think that that sounds a lot better.

Does anyone have another actual published edition that could back up one of these chords?
Thanks :)

The D is already flat by the key signature.  It's a C flat, so the chord is Cb-Db-F. Either your edition is wrong, or you aren't reading it correctly.

I said that wrong (sorry)... I meant that the one I found online was Cb-Db-F.  When I typed it up, I completely forgot about the key signature.  I'm sure, though, that the print edition that I have says C-Db(there is an accidental marked)-F.  I'm going to operate under the assumption, then, that my print edition is wrong, since that will make that measure sound a lot better.
