Only unfortunate thing about it is that he's probably going to appeal once the sentence comes in (and he probably has enough money to pay the bail), so he might not be going to jail for a bit. Also, isn't the sentence scheduled for July or August? US elections are in November...
Maybe 15% chance he still isn't in jail by the time elections come around. Hopefully we get lucky. In the meantime, enjoy all the jokes and memes.

That may be so that he isn't sentenced to a custodial sentence, but rather some combination of probation, community service, or other.

Disagree that he "has enough money," even as a probability.  He has been for some time a debtor with no income, and holds some properties that are loaned to him by various financiers.  In effect, he's the kind of guy who rents shoes rather than buys a whole pair.

And such a bad risk that legitimate corporations across the globe are loath to loan to him any longer, since one can only stand in line to liquidate the real estate he is borrowing from. 

Vide his civil suits and his extreme difficulty at finding a legitimate surety company to pay his bond pending appeal.  Despite his having begged the court to lower the cost to him, which it did, by half.

Anyway, he is allowed to appeal, like any other common criminal, and certainly will do so, thirty days after July 11, his sentencing date.

It is up to the judge reviewing his appeals case to stay his sentence pending appeal, which would be an extremely rare clemency that is, as I said, hardly, if ever, granted.
