New to PianoStreet.com...

Greetings, fellow pianists from around the world!

My name is Caryl James Thompson, and I am a pianist from the United States/Mexico.

I have playing the piano for approximately 23 years now, but am sorry to say that out of all those years, I have only been studying the art seriously for approximately 5 years...

My favorite piano genre used to be New Age (David Lanz being one of my favorite composers), however, I've just recently matured to the Classical genre and fell in love with the Romantic Period (Chopin has been such an influence to me, that I have a large portrait of him hanging on my wall, to the left of the piano, and imagine that he is my teacher).

Having a full time career that gets in the way most of the time, I try to balance work with "play," and it seems to have been working quiet nicely for me lately.

I am very excited to have found this wonderful site and look forward to discussing the wonderful Art of the piano in the near future with you all!

Thank you.

Welcome aboard, and enjoy!  There's lots of good stuff here (and some rather odd stuff too, but...)(all worth paying attention to at least a little!) and, if you sift, some excellent advice.

Welcome to the forum. Everybody here is broadminded by and large and diversity of taste and approach is encouraged. It is also very handy to be able to directly upload recordings.

Thanks for the welcoming...this site does look very helpful (especially to a teacher-less pianist). So I will be taking great advantage of its vast information and tips!

Thank you for your warm welcoming!

I will attempt to post some of my recordings in the near future for advice from the professional pianists on this site...
