Winery Bar Repertoire?
on: May 24, 2013, 03:44:18 AM
Fellow pianists,

What music pieces would you recommend for performing at a calm, candle-lit, winery bar?

Currently, I have been hired to perform at a local one and the mood there is generally soothing, so I am of need for some more music with similar vibes to match it.

As for know, I perform many of Chopin's Nocturnes (these seem PERFECT and the owners/clients love it), and other popular classical pieces (Fur Elise, Moonlight Sonata, etc.)

...any suggestions/recommendations?

    Your assistance is much appreciated!

Some of the Scriabin Mazurkas are surprisingly fitting.  Some Phillip Glass, perhaps.  I'd also suggest you get one of the many books of arrangements of popular songs/jazz standards (or improvise your own if you can) and make at not an all classical affair.

Einaudi, of course!

Einaudi, of course!

Funny you say that...I've got 'Divenire,' 'I Giorni,' and 'Fly' in my repertoire at this location already...thanks for the help though! Pieces similar to Ludovico Einaudi's compositions are exactly what I'm looking for!

Thanks for introducing me to these! If I didn't know any better, I would confuse them for Chopin's work!
