York Bowen's 24 Preludes

Does anyone know these magnificent pieces.  Despite being a student of Bowen for two years we only discussed and played three of them. But hearing them again on You Tube was a great experience.  What pianism is demonstrated in this work. They make one want to go all out and tackle them.

They are wonderful pieces. It's a shame the published edition (Weinberger) is so ridiculously expensive, though.

Dedicated to Sorabji. Not quite sure how he'd have liked them.

I also rather wish he'd done accompanying fugues, but maybe that's just me.  :-\
