In need fore some tips.

I play the piano fore 6 months now without a teacher and  I was wondering if you guys have some pointers fore me to avoid bad habits. Tips that you wish you knew when you where a beginner.

Yes, I wish I had been more aware that you must train a lot with hands separated before you start playing hands together. You learn how to play "perfectly" with one hand, at a quick tempo. (I don't mean you have to play the whole piece from beginning to end, you can work with sections instead if you like.)

When you start play with hands together you may have to do it very slowly at first, almost like starting over again ... but you will quickly gain tempo. Revert to play with hands separated sometimes.

If I had followed this principle right from start, I would have learned much faster and most of all, avoided one million stupid mistakes ...

The most important point for me (I am a beginner as well) is,
that I always look at the goal & reason for my practicing,
otherwise I could "fall into a bad habit" and practice for practicing's sake
and that would not get me anywhere...

Bach was no pioneer; his style was not influenced by any past or contemporary century.

little suggestion,look on the internet for a pdf document called "fundamentals of piano practice" freely downloadable.It's about study-methods and it already helped me (I'm playing piano for  about six months now)a lot
