Video: My Prelude No. 2
on: June 07, 2013, 12:54:10 AM
Following an in-home performance a few weeks ago (my first performance of any kind in more than two decades), I was encouraged by a couple of fellow pianists who were present to record two of my own compositions from the program.  I'm starting here with the simpler of the two, the second of a set of Nine Preludes that I wrote some years ago, a piece which seems to be easily accessible to the listener.  I've made both a video and an audio recording.

The other work, which I hope to present here in the next few weeks, will be my Piano Sonata No. 4, which is a longer and much more complex work (although equally Romantic!).  Stay tuned.  :)

This is pretty.  Can't help feeling it could be condensed though.  It seems to go on a bit too long for me and form-wise it seems quite Rhapsodic.
When a search is in progress, something will be found.

Thanks.  I just compared the HTML for my post vs. yours and fixed mine to match yours, so the link works now.

Thank you!  It's unpublished, but I have a PDF document for the whole set of nine preludes.  I can send you a copy if you'll drop me a PM telling me where to send it.  (I'm tempted just to attach it here, but my concern is that that could be an obstacle if I ever should have an opportunity to get it published--not that I know anything about the publishing industry.)

After retiring at the end of September, I purchased Finale and created a new edition of the whole set of Nine Preludes.  I then used the resulting score, together with the original video, to create the following "score video":

Over the next year or so, I hope to create similar videos--both "score" and regular versions--of the other preludes, as well as some of my other compositions.  It won't happen right away, though, because right now we're getting ready for a move from Florida to Arizona.  :)
