Fingering Help-Arabesque No.1 Debussy
on: June 19, 2013, 08:12:48 PM
I have had this piece for about 2 weeks, and I have completed the first page. My instructor has been really picky about my fingering, and I have been practicing the fingering like crazy. I'm starting to work on the second page, and I was writing in finger numbers that worked best for me. Last night, I sat at the piano until 10:00 pm testing out what fingerings worked the best for this piece.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to find the best fingering for this piece? And, even better, recommended finger numbers for certain measures?

(from my last post [which was also regarding this piece] I am pleased to say I have mastered 2 against three and three against 2 with no sweat. Thanks to all who replied in that topic!)

Thanks so much,

I just finnished this song last week and the fingering has no mistery.

My teatcher has really big hands, and I have very small ones, so the fingering that I use is very different in many measures because of some jumps. I work more with 5-4-2-1 in the left and 1-2-3-5 in the right. For the right hand just don't avoid using your thumb to play black notes, it happens a lot.
