Question
on: July 01, 2013, 01:07:32 AM
Hi I'm a new member and this is my first post, although I have been here as a lurker for some time now. I don't know if this is in correct section  :) I have been teaching myself how to play piano for 8 months now, ever since my friend started. I made this account because I have a question. Two weeks ago, I learned how to play fur elise fully. Since it was the first song I could fully play with both hands I just got very excited and practiced it for maybe two hours. Two days afterwards however, I suddenly hate the song,I am not passionate about it anymore.I am making mistakes which I didn't make before, missing notes etc. I get that this is because I wore out the song,so I decided to give a long break and learn other songs before getting back to it.It's been two weeks now and I tried playing it today but I am still making same mistakes and still hate the music even though I loved it before. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks   ;D

Play a different piece? If I played fur elise everyday for two hours I'd most likely quit the piano all together. You play, or me at least, the piano for enjoyment and tranquility.

Pick other pieces that you like. Might I recommend some Bach. Or if you like anime, play a naruto piece.
