Finger cyst

Has anyone here had experience of these ? The one on the pad of the third finger shown here has been resident for months. It empties and fills, seemingly at random, and when full tends to become sore when the finger receives the inevitable accidental blows against adjacent keys while playing. Fortunately, direct striking of keys in the usual way is painless. I have had quite a number of ganglions over the years in various places; for some reason I am prone to them. In the past, if they didn't go (most of them do  go sooner or later, usually later) I gave them a solid belt with something heavy and burst them but this position is a trifle delicate to attempt that.

I have had it checked, and it is completely harmless. Aspiration and excision are not 100% guaranteed to get rid of these things, so I guess in this case, playing through the occasional mild jab of pain is all right.

Bit of a nuisance, but worse things happen at sea.
