Fingerings, Invention 13
on: February 21, 2003, 07:49:36 AM
I'd like to get some fingerings, please.
I'm working on invention 13 and I know I'm playing it wrong. I am frustrated because I want to play well, but I don't know how. I'll never get it right by guessing
I'm looking for an online resource, rather than an expensive book or lessons which I cannot afford. I don't have money.
I'd like to learn the fingerings for a few pieces and then study about how to make decisions of which fingers to use.
I'm working on Hanon exercises and an exercise of my own divise.
My exercise is playing all inversions of triads up and down (e.g. C, C6 (E, G, C), C 4/2 (G, C, E), C, C6, then D-, then E-, et c.). This is performed with accuracy and fluidity at 40bpm.

Which invention are you playing?? the Two part or the Three part... I guessing that it's a Bach invention... If you can give me some more specifics, maybe I can help you!

Hi Sarah,
I'm working on 2-part Invention No. 13 in A minor.
I'm working on just the first half right now. Specifically, m3 beats 2-3 has a D minor arpeggio in the left hand.
I need to make some type of diagram. Should I scan the sheet music and write my fingerings? How to communicate this?
You can email me at sarah[at]dhtmlkitchen.com (replace "<at>" w/"@". I'm trying to avoid spambots)

I'll just post the fingerings here, since my email takes quite some time to open...
OK... I'm going to put the letter names for the notes in the d minor arpeggio, and below that, the finger that goes on the note...
d a f a d f a c
1 2 4 1 3 2 5 4
That then sets you up for the next measure!
Love,
sarah
