I have used it about 400 times and thought it difficult at first. Strangely, I have actually managed 6 months without ordering anything.

I find it is best to have two pages open at once. One being their integrated catalogue and the other being the document supply form. Then you can copy and paste the information from one to the other.

For sheet music, I would be inclined to order A3 sheets. A4 is a little small for some scores and I do not rate their imaging service.

thal,
I mean ordering sheet music from their website https://bldss.bl.uk/BLDSS/index.jsp, the price stated there is 22.95, but they say they can't copy sheet music that is under copyright, can you help me to clarify this?

Hmm, it looks like it has changed since I last ordered from them, as the links I had saved do not work.

The link on our post takes me to a sign in screen. Looks like you need to use this one now??

https://forms.bl.uk/imaging/index.aspx

Ordering music seems to now be done under the imaging service application form as above.

Prices are here.

They will only provide copies of copyrighted material if you can get permission from the copyright holder.

bldss needs registration to use their service, they have their own catalogue that offers articles, books, sheet music etc., it differs from the main catalogue, they have loads of copyrighted sheet music to choose for.The problem is I don't know if they offer their service with copyrighted sheet music.. Imaging service is a different story.

I have never used the document supply, but they will be using the same copyright rules as the imaging services.

You would be able to place an order for a copyrighted item, but it would be rejected when they actually looked at it.

I was told years ago that I had to use the Imaging services, but that might have changed.

Appears to be a bit of a minefield now. Cambridge, Oxford & Glasgow universities have huge holdings and are very simple to apply.
