For me, there are not nearly enough colors. The melody is always equally clear, no matter character, tonality, composer... After a while, it gets rather dull. I mean, you hit all right notes, and everything is clear. But no matter if it's Dumky or Waldstein, it sounds the same to me.

Maybe it's just the american way of doing things, cause you're far from alone... Therefore, I doubt that you will agree with what I wrote. It's just that I don't always want to hear the melody in a super singing way. And even if it is indeed very singing, it can still sing in different ways, but most of your videos sing the same way.
Like, if it's tragic, I don't want it to sing exactly the same way as if it would be happy. And if it's Liszt, I don't want it to sing the same way as if it would be Tchaikowky or Beethoven...

But it's just my opinion.

I think you have a valid point. I usually treat all music in a similar manner, with an emphasis on clarity.

as for "American", I was born is St.Petersburg and came to the US when I was 7.  ;)

Furi, congradualtions

Your playing style resembles one of the Australian pianist, Anothny Halliday
 ;)

I have met him and saw him in live concert several times. He is a goof friends with my former piano teacher.

Have listen to his recordings/or even his hands styles. You both are very similar.

Sorry, maybe it's not an american way then.
It just seemed to be a trend on music competitions. I noticed it more with american pianists than others, but maybe I just happened to miss the other pianists that also have that style...
