A Shostakovich and Ponce request this time...
on: July 22, 2013, 07:02:37 PM
Hullo once more  ;) Has anyone got per chance Ponce's 'Rapsodia Cubana No.1' for piano? It doesn't seem to be at IMSLP and I've looked in other sites but no luck so far.
As for the Shostakovich request, I'm looking for a 2-piano arrangement of his 7th Symphony 'Leningrad', or at the very least, of that symphony's last movement. I've tried Dover already but found nothing of the sort  :(

Cheers!

There's a two piano four hand arrangement of the whole 7th published (or due to be published) by DSCH as Volume 22 of Series I of their "New Collected Works of Dmitri Shostakovich".  I can't find it for sale anywhere, though.

https://www.chostakovitch.org/BILINGUE/150.htm

Sikorski is in the process of publishing their own "Complete Works" set in 150 volumes, but I don't know whether this is part of it (or where they are up to).

Thanks for the info, man. I guess I'll try to find that one by DSCH.
And as for Ponce's Rapsodia Cubana, no one knows where I might find it?

Cheers,
M.W.

The Shostakovitch has now been released by DSCH and is available for purchase, inter alia, here]https://www.ruslania.com/sid-7b4ff3f4e836ede43ba8f21540541c76/language-1/entity-6/context-321/entity-6/details-159254.html]here.

It comes with a two hand arrangement as well and is, umm, not exactly cheap. 364 pages, hardcover.

Cheers for the update, man!

However, I don't know whether to laugh like a nutter, or cry...like a nutter, too, I guess...
