Contemplation in F Minor
on: July 22, 2013, 10:18:58 PM
'Ello. I'm new here (as in about two-minutes new) and I would love some feedback on, er, one of my compositions, and I figured this would be a better place to post this topic than the Audition Room. ANYWAY, here is a link:
https://www.noteflight.com/scores/view/2614920f4fe521620ad6aab6cd817c100ae8b0dc
As you can see from clicking the link, there's a SoundCloud link in the description.
The first link is the public score.
THIS link is the official score, on which I have made some notational (not musical) changes.
Oh look, "notational" isn't a word. Nice going.
And now the second link:
https://www.noteflight.com/scores/view/585d19527cd2d06c7e99b3946eb2ae741da8d9a4
If any of you are a member of Noteflight, please comment on the score itself.
To anyone in general: I would appreciate it if you read the description and listened to the performance, because MIDI isn't a good pianist.

Alright, I'm getting pretty irritated. It's been read 20 times. TWENTY. And no replies. Really?

I did give the piece a listen and followed the score. Then I read your resons for composing this piece work. Having played the works of the GREAT French composers, I found no similarities in your harmonic structure. I would take more time and study the piano, chamber, and orchestral works of the french masters. If you have a college with a good music department, I would contact the compostion teachers and ask for their opinion. Best of luck in your study of composition.

Oh, I wasn't trying to mimic anyone's style. I don't like doing that. I just thought it sounded reminiscent of Debussy. I'm also not studying composition just yet... I'm 13.
But, I'm very glad you enjoyed it.
