I'm in Ma. as well. I don't know where you are located but the store down the street from me has been a long standing business for decades. He rebuilds and sells new. I've seen pricing in there that I would consider reasonable as piano pricing goes. I've never bought a piano from him, I have bought strings from him and other parts but I have no idea about delivery cost etc. The name is Pianoworks, should you be interested in contacting them. It's in Sandwich, Ma. right on route 6a about 1.25 miles from the Sagamore Bridge. Nice people..

Beyond that, if I were looking for a replacement piano for my old Miller ( or add to the old Miller) I would consider Rick Jones Piano. I know they are not in Ma. but they do deliver country wide and offer a 10 year warranty. Hard to beat and they have a huge inventory ( Pianoworks has a showroom with quite a few grands in there but nothing like Rick Jones).

Finally, are you looking for new or used ?
Depressing the pedal on an out of tune acoustic piano and playing does not result in tonal color control or add interest, it's called obnoxious.

I am probably looking for a used piano.  Also I live in the South Shore area so Sandwich is about an 50-60 min away which isn't that bad.  Do you know what the place is called?

Yes, it's in my other message. It's called Pianoworks. They teach piano, sell parts, sell books, rebuild piano, move pianos and are a dealer of a couple of different brand. They have been in town for a lot of years, I'd say 20 where they are now and 15 before that at another location in town.

Piano Street Magazine:
Women and the Chopin Competition: Breaking Barriers in Classical Music

The piano, a sleek monument of polished wood and ivory keys, holds a curious, often paradoxical, position in music history, especially for women. While offering a crucial outlet for female expression in societies where opportunities were often limited, it also became a stage for complex gender dynamics, sometimes subtle, sometimes stark. From drawing-room whispers in the 19th century to the thunderous applause of today’s concert halls, the story of women and the piano is a narrative woven with threads of remarkable progress and stubbornly persistent challenges.
