Romanian Folkdances by Bartok
on: November 04, 2004, 04:18:50 AM
I have recordings of 3 and 4, but the recordings I have are one part piano, one part violin. When I took a look at the sheets, just piano was indicated (both parts for piano). How are they intended to be played?

Also, since they are short, is it appropriate to play all (6?) of them at a recital in a row?

it's (in the orig. version) for piano solo, and if you'll ask me, it sounds a lot better on the piano than the piano and violin version or the orchestra version.
if you're going to play it, of course you'll play them all! it's about 6 mins for them all.
very beautifull piece, the Romanian Folkdances.
good luck!
Too bad schubert didn't write any piano concertos...
