Hello everyone, I am preparing for DipABRSM and I need some material to write program notes. I did some research but I didn't get what I wanted. Is there any documents for my pieces on Internet? My recital pieces:

Bach Toccata in E minor
Bartok Six dances in Bulgarian Rhythm No:2 and No:6
Schubert Impromptu Op. 90/3 in G flat
Mozart Sonata in C K309

Thanks :)

Yes. There is.

Otherwise, isn't the programme part of the grade? Surely you're not suggesting we do your exam for you?  :o

Go to a reference library or university music library.  Ask the librarian to show you how to find materials in order to write program notes.  You'll learn about bibliographies, browsing the stacks, books, journals, online resources, online catalogs, and all that good stuff.

A good place to start
https://scholar.google.com

https://www.worldcat.org

Your library may have Grove subscription, or maybe the print version.   Using this will often get you in the ballpark so you can retrieve more specific info.  Remember to check the bibliography for the article.

Your library will need a subscription.  However they do have a lot of good stuff.

Careful not to copy existing program notes.  You don't want to get caught plagiarizing.  Be on the safe side and cite anything that is not yours.

Really, your teacher should be showing you where to get the stuff, not just handing you the assignment and expecting you to do it.  Research isn't that intuitive at times.

Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach
