Anybody do that Mechanical Turk job thing on Amazon?
on: August 05, 2013, 11:57:56 PM
Looks like it's a bit underpaid, but potential some money.

And if you stay under $600/year I don't think you have to pay taxes.  Otherwise, it's being underpaid minus about 33%.

Just curious.  I was wondering if you could use multiple accounts and exchange them for gift cards and not actually use money that way.

Plus time spent researching whatever taxes are, extra time spent filling out taxes.... more personal time spent for an underpaying job.  Really doesn't sound worth it.

I have no idea what you're talking about but the title sounded highly lewd.

I agree.  I didn't want to reply earlier because I had no idea what you're talking about, Bob.  Can you please elaborate so that we can understand?

Is it the trade in thing? If so you can do ok, but you have to know what to look for.

It's on Amazon.  There are workers and requestors.  You can get paid to do little jobs that computers can't do.  The penny stuff looks like a real waste of time, but some of the other stuff looks doable.

If you have to pay taxes on it, it looks even less worthwhile.  It's already underpaid.  But if it's fairly brainless... and it's another way to make a little money... Then again, if it results in something like $5/hour... I should keep looking.

Ah, I see, not what I was thinking of. Some of them look interesting, but it looks like you may have to do a lot of penny stuff before you get to try the good ones.

I was thinking transcription, but those are "master" level ones.  They probably kind of con people into joining and get them to do the penny ones at first.  Extremely underpaid.  If someone sticks around long enough, they can do the regular amount of "underpaidness."
