Sight Reading Tips.
on: August 15, 2013, 01:37:01 AM
Hello, i'm here just to have some simple advice.
I'm a decent sight reader but i really struggle when it comes to songs that have too many accents
like 5 flat notes.
I kinda freeze and have to calculate back the tones. It's like a minor issue i think but it completely destroys my sight reading.
Actually to be honest recently playing a piece with 5 accents i just focused on the 2 unchanged notes and got to play but ones with 3 really slow me down.
I don't have much teory so do i need to learn something that would facilitate that reading or i just have to mash more songs like that to nail it?

Play many scales in the different keys. That will train your "sense" for the keys.
