Keller of Stuttgart piano actions
on: August 20, 2013, 07:19:36 PM
Does anyone know anything about Keller piano actions from before world war 2? I bought an old Rönisch upright from the 1930's and the action is made by Keller. It plays like a dream so I'm interested as to what became of them. There's almost no information on the Internet. I assume they were some sort of contemporary of Renner as both companies were in Stuttgart.

If you think it's is expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur.

Thanks for that. Does that mean Keller and Langer joined together after the 2nd World war? Or are Keller and Langer actions the same?

I would have to look at the action from that time period to determine if they were identical.

Following that period of time much of the infrastructure would have been non-existent. Many of the firms may have joined together in the only usable space available to begin production once again as Germany rebuilt.

I know that Bechstein and Blüthner shared the same factory for a while, if I recall correctly or perhaps it was Förster and someone else.
