schumann fantasy op 17
on: August 26, 2013, 12:25:29 AM
hi guys
so recently i encountered this piece by schumann, fantasy in c major op 17(movement 1) and fell in love with it. technically, it doesn't seem bad, but i was wondering if it is one of those pieces reserved for "older" piano players due to its emotional/musical maturity?
thanks for any input :)

If you love it, then you should learn it. Don't worry too much about having the maturity to play it. Isn't part of learning pieces like that is to grow with it? The 2nd movement, however is very challenging technically.

Schumann was 26 when he wrote it.  You'll be fine.
