"I don't wanna ..."

...feed and clothe a starving child in Africa, if it means sacrificing the highest, grandest version and vision of myself.

But how can this be your highest, grandest version and vision of yourself?  Surely you see the irony.

Surely you see the irony.

I'm having trouble understanding what you're saying, much less what the irony is.

I get it but I'm not sharing cuz it is Monday here.

Surely you see my logic?

Hash browns are starch.  Therefore, they are grammatically incorrect.

Somewhere, m1469, I have a sermon I preached some years back more or less on this subject.  Probably fortunately, I have no idea where I filed it!  But the basic thought is -- everyone needs to be all that they themselves can be.  Only if you respect yourself and value yourself to the fullest (and realistically, I might add) can you then reach out to others and respect and value them to the fullest.

And the second part of it is to do this for yourself, and for the others you meet day to day.  It is worse than useless to neglect or put down yourself, or those you meet every day, in favour of someone who is far away.
