Two new boards for announcements of events and recitals
on: August 28, 2013, 02:55:08 PM
Following a recent discussion here on the forum regarding whether or not to allow announcements of piano competitions, masterclasses and recitals we have decided to open two new sub boards of the Miscellaneous section in order to provide room for relevant and non-commercial advertisements.
Events:
https://www.pianostreet.com/smf/index.php?board=32.0
Recitals:
https://www.pianostreet.com/smf/index.php?board=33.0
In the latter all members are welcome to post announcements and invitations to their upcoming piano recitals!

I question the wisdom of needing two separate forums. The traffic is relatively small as it is so having to check two separate forums takes time that I don't think is necessary. I'd rather those announcements just be in the Misc. forum so people can see it.
I noticed the new forums some time ago but I've never once checked them. In a way, this is actually convenient since I'm not interested in them. But on the other hand, how do I know that I won't be interested in them if I don't see them?
I vote to get rid of them.

Convincing arguments there.
