I don't know what a 'CMUS' Grade is. How does it compare with ABRSM?

Duets together? Ok, as long as my part is easy.

You are *WAY* beyond my level. Duets together will by you playing the piano, me jingling the bells.

CMUS...what a funny name, just about as funny as ARTC... or ARCT or whatever the hell its called in RCM after grade 10.

CMusA = Certificate of Music, Australia

It's a performance exam that comes after Grade 8 in the Piano for Leisure syllabus which is set by the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB)

There's also a Piano syllabus, which follows Grade 8 with AMusA (Associate Diploma) and LMusA (Licentiate Diploma).

The Piano syllabus is supposedly more rigorous than the Piano for Leisure syllabus, so a lot of students after Grade 8 Piano do the CMus as a stepping stone before they attempt the AMus.

I think the AMEB grading system quite closely mirrors the British ABRSM system.

Tash,

I was thinking that one-day you will either be a renowned Pianist or Artist. If I was to have one of your early paintings then in 10 or 20 years it *could* be worth a fortune  :o

I really do like the ‘Pianofish’ picture and think it would look nice on the wall above my electric Piano, which is currently bland and uninspiring.  :-\

Problem is, if I do buy it you will have no option but to become famous in order to make it a good investment!  ;)

pheh renowned pianist as if, possibly artist but i wanna be an illustrator so if there are any budding authors out there who need illustrations, come to me!!!
ah it's kinda large and i think my sister has already put her name on having it so sorry! but it'd probably be better buying something a bit later when i actually start making some more decent looking artworks- in my opinion these are all really sketchy and messy in terms of technique (hey sounds like my piano technique!). so if you did want something like that then you're better off asking me to redo it on a smaller canvas cos i have no idea how you'd get a 75cm tall canvas to england!

Tash,

Your sister gets everything  :'(

Ok, I was thinking about this. So, if you want inspiration and possibly something I'd be inclined to buy:

I would like something which combines a few of my interests

1) Piano & Music
2) Space exploration and hopefully tourism!
3) Maths/Physics/Popular science

I was imagining something similar to your piano fish painting, but with the keyboard drifting through a distant solar system.

Anyway, just some ideas *if* you are stuck. (They may seem pretty boring to you)

no i'vehad an inspiration- a completely random painting, which has a grand piano in the centre, with fish swimming all around it, and then in the background is the unlimited number of pi- what is the meaning behind all this? who knows- i'll tell you, the secret to myartworks is that theymay suggest bizarre meanings and symbolism, but they don't. orthey mightbut it's a subconscious thought and i duno whatit means anyway.

and i actually did have an idea to do with a keyboard drifting, except it was more like coming out of the canvas...omg i have so many ideas and so little money to buy the paint and canvas with!

Hi Tash,

I think you have some great ideas and I'm thrilled that you find 'Pi' interesting! I was thinking you could combine a piano in space and somehow incorporate 'Pi'. This way you have a combination of 3 infinities.

1) Infinity of Space
2) Infinity of 'Pi'
3) Infinity of Music

What do you think!?  :D

Tash,

I have not done anything as prestigious as paint 'Pi' - I envy you. I have considered getting a *small* tattoo of ‘Pi’ on my shoulder, but I am very anti-tattoo (On me).

A friend at work was proud that he knew 'Pi' to 8 decimal places after having a bet with his mates. So I made it my mission to beat him. I put a great picture of 'Pi' on my PC wallpaper with the value up to 31 decimal places and memorised it! (Although I need refreshing every now and again) But this achievement pales in comparison to some who have memorised ‘Pi’ to the first 1000 decimal places! :o

I hope you do get your thoughts on canvas soon, it would be interesting to see what the result is. :D

This time *I* get first pick instead of your sister!  >:(
