Where can you find a good, complete recording of it? Are there any recordings on youtube?

Chopin Etude 10/5, 10/9
Beethoven Sonata 2/2, 10/3
Bach P&F no. 7 WTC 1
Ligeti Musica Ricercata 10

The best to go for is the one by John Ogdon on Altarus (AIR-CD-9075[5]); it's a 5-CD boxed set with a large informative accompanying book and is sold for the price of 4. If you are in US or Canada, you'd be best to get it from Records International; if elsewhere, then write to us at sorabji-archive@lineone.net and we will be happy to oblige. I am unaware of a complete recording on YouTube.

Best,

Alistair

Not that I don't appreciate the efforts of both Madge and Ogdon, but I would certainly love to see Jonathan Powell record this. A real pity I missed his NYC performance years back!

It was indeed a pity (I didn't miss it, by the way!). I daresay he'll do it some day; at the moment, however, hes putting the finishing touches to the composer's final piano symphony which was completed some 45 years later than Opus C and he will première this in the Netherlands in October with a second performance a few days later in Oxford, England.

Best,

Alistair.

Given that it has had one public performance by the composer, six by Geoffrey Douglas Madge, two by John Ogdon, four by Jonathan Powell and two by Daan Vandewalle as well as two recordings by Madge and one by Ogdon, your lack of knowledge here might seem somewhat surprising if I may say so!

Best,

Perhaps "properly" should have been added onto the sentence.

When Practice Stagnates – Breaking the Performance Ceiling: Robotic Training for Pianists

“Practice makes perfect” is a common mantra for any pianist, but we all know it’s an oversimplification. While practice often leads to improvement, true perfection is elusive. But according to recent research, a robotic exoskeleton hand could help pianists improve their speed of performing difficult pianistic patterns, by overcoming the well-known “ceiling effect”.
