Schubert, Klavierstucke D. 946 No. 1 and 2
on: September 04, 2013, 06:03:37 AM
Hello,
Two pieces from Schubert D. 946 (No 1 and 2). In No. 1, I also included the second trio. I would appreciate if you watch and comment. Thank you.

Very nice indeed.

In number 2, I think the opening Allegro part can be more upbeat, almost nauseatingly dancey. The rest of it will then be more contrasting and will have a more dramatic effect. Matter of taste, though.

Most important quibble, now. "Drei Klavierstucke". Drei!!!  Would love to hear it.

Bravo, Can Cakmur!

Not only do you show a real affinity for this music, but you have the virtuoso technique to play it with great style and charm! Few pianists ever get to this point with Schubert's music at any age, so I congratulate you heartily.

You produce a wonderful quality of sound. Fantastic control of voicing and melodic projection!

I think you could find even more lyricism and warmth in the music by supporting with the bass more. It's not a question of playing louder with the LH... perhaps have just a small conversation between the conductor and the principle cellist and make sure they always agree on things.

Schubert was obviously the King of Song, but I think his piano music is often a slightly ambiguous combination of song and dance.  I like when pianists manage to channel a certain sense of that ambiguity.

Thank you for posting this. I enjoyed your performances immensely.
