Piano Recital (Bach, Chopin, Godowsky, Liszt, Rachmaninov...)
on: September 06, 2013, 03:27:14 PM
Hi everyone! Here I post the piano recital I played at the Conservatoire in Villena the 3rd of June. Below I write the program, which is the result of the whole last year of studying.
PROGRAM
Bach/Szántó -> Fantasia and Fugue in G major
Liszt -> Trascendental Study #1
Chopin -> Étude op. 10 #12
Chopin/Godowsky -> Study #22 (op. 10 #12)
Rachmaninov -> Morceaux de fantaisie op. 3
ENCORE
Chopin -> Étude op. 10 #1
Well, I hope you enjoy it because for me it was my first piano recital as a soloist. The truth is that it was great
Thanks for watching it!!

Congratulations and bravo! I'm glad you enjoyed playing your first recital, and I'm happy that it was well-received.
I enjoyed the Bach and the Rachmaninoff the most. Some fine character you show.
I thought the Chopin Etudes came off a tad sloppy, and surely op. 10/1 isn't the most flattering encore, no matter who you are or how well you can play.
I think you could work a little bit on your pedaling in general. Your sound is a bit muddy sometimes and I think it's really just the fault of your right foot.
Do you ever practice without the pedal? That's one of the best ways of learning how to use it wisely! Even in repertoire that we will eventually use the pedal in.
It's a great way to practice. Builds character, discipline, and helps you learn music faster.
Again, congratulations on your performance and thank you for sharing!

hello Frankiisko!
Congratulations ... you seem to enjoy performing ... that is very good. You play very well and you were able to maintain my interest for your whole recital. I liked best the Bach piece, then 2nd the Rach. Personally I feel the Revolutionary etude lacked a bit of "spunk and bravado" and that melodious singing quality in the middle portion, but overall it was enjoyable to listen too. THANKS for posting.
I am a bit surprised though that this is your 1st recital? You must be 16-18 ... did you start with the piano late?

Looks like you enjoyed yourself.. well done!
Be careful with the pedal changes, sometimes the sound was a bit blurred and you run the risk of losing clarity and covering up the many positives in your playing.
I particularly enjoyed the Rachmaninov, and congratulations on the Chopin-Godowsky, you made it look easier than it is! Well done.

Thank you very much for all your advices!! Yes, I also think I have to be a little more careful with pedal changes, and well, it's not an excuse but in that hall there was a lot of reverberation, so I'll have to check that kind of things to adapt to different situations.
Well, I began piano with 6 years old and there I'm 16 but I meant it was my first whole piano recital, of course I've played before live but that was the first time I played my own concert
Thank you very much again!!
