The Quiet Revolutionary of the Piano – Fauré’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

In the pantheon of French music, Gabriel Fauré (1845–1924) often seems a paradox—an innovator cloaked in restraint, a Romantic by birth who shaped the contours of modern French music with quiet insistence. Piano Street now provides sheet music for his complete piano works: a body of music that resists spectacle, even as it brims with invention and brilliance. Read more

It's DEFINITELY not too bad.

Could you play it like this in other keys?

Well.. I probably could in some keys... but probably not all 12 keys hahha...
And probably not as an exact transposition note-by-note...

As long as you could groove just as funkly  , nobody would listen for what exact notes you play;)

Try this:

How quickly can you play through the circle of fourths with just one single finger, producing a good sound on every note, and counting rhythmically the entire time out loud with your voice?

Try it with any possible finger and try to have it as legato as possible, well counting out loud. Does that make sense?

You mean play the whole piece through the circle of fourths?

No I just meant whack the circle itself out until you are intimately familiar with every single corner.

It's a circle, so there are no corners. But you know what I mean. ;)

I am not familiar with pop music I'm afraid, but this does sound VERY good. You got an extremely precise timing and manage to get a wide range of sound colour from the piano. Excellent!

Thanks for the complement. Here is something I would like to share... You may agree or not,.. up to you :)

Well... I believe there are good and bad music in every single genre. For me as a musician, as long as I sounds great, it is great music! I admited that I was once also one of those classical pianists who think there are ONLY classical and non-classical music in this world (so, jazz, pop, rock, funk, latin, whatever... stay together as "non-classical") and I played only classical stuff. I also used to think there is no other music that is harder than classical music (especially after I did the coda of the 2nd movement of Schumann's Fantasie op.17)...

But then I heard Ray Charles, and I got my head spin a little bit. After that I explore more of non-classical music and found out that this whole world is SOOOOOO BIGGGGGG. But still, I still like classical music. But I started to learn other stuff too, as I would like to be able to wear different hats.

And one think I also discovered after being trained for many years (which I believe everyone knows already but I didn't at the point of time) is... it doesn't have to be complicated or difficult in order be beautiful music...
