Question. How to read these notes.
on: September 27, 2013, 05:18:06 PM

Are the notes the same in these two measures?  In the first one, the F and A are already natural and flat but the signs show up again.  How would I read these 2 measure?
The measures are from Piano Sonata #8 In C Minor, Op. 13, "Pathétique" -2 by Beethovan.

The redundant accidentals in the first measure are "courtesy accidentals".  They don't actually do anything, it's just a reminder to the player that those notes should be played that way.  They were put here because there is some modulation in the previous measures and the editor felt like someone might expect an F# instead of an F or A instead of Ab.
